What did Jesus say about Prayer?

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive... Mark 11:23-25

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. Mark 14:38

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray,use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. All things are possible with prayer, and with God. All prayers are answered. God knows the prayer of the heart before any words are spoken. True Prayer is Communion with God. Thoughts, wishes, and desires are forms of prayer. Jesus instructed us to be watchful of our thoughts, for we receive as we ask.
A prayer to know the Will of God is answered instantaneously.


What is Prayer?

Prayer is a way of asking for something. It is the medium of miracles. But the only meaningful prayer is for forgiveness, because those who have been forgiven have everything. Once forgiveness has been accepted, prayer in the usual sense becomes utterly meaningless. The prayer for forgiveness
is nothing more than a request that you may be able to recognize what you already have. In electing perception instead of knowledge, you placed yourself in a position where you could resemble your Father only by perceiving miraculously. You have lost the knowledge that you yourself are a miracle of God. Creation [Love] is your Source and your only real function.

The Bible emphasizes that all prayer is answered, and this is indeed true. The very fact that the Holy Spirit has been asked for anything will ensure a response. Yet it is equally certain that no response given by Him will
ever be one that would increase fear. It is possible that His answer will not be heard. It is impossible, however,that it will be lost. There are many answers you have already received but have not yet heard. Be assured that they are waiting for you.

There is no Will but God's


The following prayers are helpful steps for turning
over hearts and minds to the Will of God.
His Will is Your Own.

The Serenity Prayer

Expect not that the world will change.
Opt instead, to change the way that you perceive
the world, yourself and your brother.
Pray for a peaceful state of mind.

God, grant me the Serenity

Your will is but God's.

Our Father, Who establishes Heaven,
All that is Real and all that is True.

Hallowed be, is Thy Presence

for delivering us from the belief...
loss of any kind or in any way could be real
and that we could reside in an unreal place,
apart from You and with any power but Yours.

For Yours is the only Kingdom, infinite and eternal
All powerful, all Loving and Glorious
and all that is real abide in
forever and ever.

Prayer For Guidance

Surrender to God the power of your mind,
that his Holy Thoughts would be heard.
Relinquish all other interests but to be
the way he created you. Step back
and let Him lead the way.

Father, I give You all my thoughts today. I would have none of mine. In place of them, give me Your Own. I give You all my acts as well, that I may do Your Will instead of seeking goals which cannot be obtained, and wasting time in vain imaginings. Today I come to You. I will step back and merely follow You. Be You the Guide, and I the follower who questions not the wisdom of the Infinite, nor Love whose tenderness I cannot comprehend, but which is yet Your perfect gift to me.

You can do much on behalf of your own healing and that
of others if, in a situation calling for help, you think of it this way:

I am here only to be truly helpful. I am here to represent Him Who sent me. I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because He Who sent me will direct me. I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes there with me. I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

Be a Witness for the Light of Christ

Dear Jesus, help me to spread Your fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus!
Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as You shine, so to shine as to be a light to others; the light, O Jesus, will be all from You; none of it will be mine: it will be You shining on others through me. Let me thus praise You in the way You love best: by shining on those around me. Let me preach You without preaching, not by words, but by my example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears to You. Amen.

 

Prayer for Non-Judgment

If you are in judgment, you are not seeing with Christ's
vision. Perception and knowledge have no meeting place.
Let your own perception be exchanged for Peace.

Father, help me to be honest with myself today. Show me that I do not already know what must remain beyond my present seeing, that I will not think I understand the whole of your creation from bits of my perception, which are all that I can see. Let me recognize that this is so. Let me be relieved of judgments that I cannot make, that I may free myself and what I look upon, to be in peace as God created us. Father, today I leave creation free to be itself. I honor all its parts, in which I am included. We are one because each part contains Your memory, and truth must shine in all of us as one. Amen.

 

From Prayer to Communion

Be Still and Know That I Am God.

In stillness we will hear God's Voice today without intrusion of our petty thoughts, without our personal desires, and without all judgment of His holy Word. The motivating factor for healing is prayer, or asking. What you ask for you receive. But this refers to the prayer of the heart, not to the words you use in praying. Sometimes the words and the prayer are contradictory; sometimes they agree. It does not matter. Words can be helpful, particularly for the beginner, in helping concentration and facilitating the control, of
extraneous thoughts. Let us not forget, however, that words are but symbols of symbols. They are thus twice removed from reality.

Communion, not prayer, is the natural state of those who know. God and His miracle are inseparable. How beautiful indeed are the Thoughts of God who live in His Light! Your worth is beyond perception because it is beyond doubt. Do not perceive yourself in different lights. Know yourself in the One Light
where the miracle that is you is perfectly clear.

Thank You God, that your Will for me is Perfect Peace and Love.
